Director’s Message
I often think that as long as I am invested in a subject I should be able to put my thoughts into a string of words worth reading, but I have had a hard time with this. I haven’t written one of these before, so perhaps it was a wee bit arrogant to assume I would feel at ease doing it.
To start, I remember the first time I saw Cabaret. I was young enough that I hadn't been taught what happened during WW2. I remember needing my mom to explain what it all meant, and so she did as best as she could, which began my interest in that period. Years later, when I came back to the show, I was curious about the history of the show itself. I found that the story of how Cabaret became the version we are presenting to you today almost as interesting as the show itself, which just solidified my love for it, and I hoped that I would get the chance to put on a version of it.
This show's focus is on the effects of apathy. It illustrates this by completely strapping the audience with the reality of how easy it is to sit back and watch people you have grown to care for fill their roles, becoming the tools that are necessary to get to the inevitable end. A lot of the time when talking about Nazi’s, the people that stood by, or helped, it is done in a way where we remove the very human element of these people, almost to soothe ourselves into believing we could never be in that same spot. Cabaret shows you how easy it is to not know you're in that spot until it's too late, all while having some of the strongest music I have heard in a musical, and captivating dance numbers.
To the cast and crew - Thank you. It has been nothing but lovely collaborating with all of you to create our version of this incredible show. I only hope you’ve had as much fun as I’ve had stringing it together. You’re all capable and talented. It has been an absolute pleasure.

Message from the Board
Cabaret is one of the most performed musicals in the world because it does all the things a great musical should do - make you laugh, cry, think, and leave the theatre with much to discuss. Plus, you're sure to be singing these songs long after the show is over! We are proud to present Cabaret with this amazing cast and crew!
As a volunteer-run organization, RCMPI cannot exist without your support, so please accept our sincere thanks for coming here today. Our cast, crew, and production team have put in numerous hours to bring this show to the stage, and, on behalf of the Board, please accept my heartfelt appreciation and thanks for giving of your time, talent, and energy.
Don't forget to support our fundraising raffle that our volunteers have organized! Your support will help us cover the cost for things such as our storage space for costumes, scenery, and props. Good luck!
We thank you for filling the theatre for this performance with your applause and laughter.
