Doctor Sheila Shuman is one of the world’s leading experts on happiness, but she’s stuck in Rosewood. On Christmas Eve. At the Elk’s Hall. In a blizzard. With Earl. It’s the last place on earth she wants to be. She’s not very happy at all.
She’s not the only one who’s stuck in Rosewood. Dianne is stuck at the Gas Bar…about to give birth. That’s okay, though, she’s got Tim from the cattle farm to help her. He's done this before. When it comes to giving birth, Tim knows the ropes.
Christine is stuck at the Rosewood Model Railroad Club on a bad date with Brian.
Two sad Santas are stuck with each other.
Esther is stuck at the funeral parlour with Carl, her late ex-husband. Rose is stuck, too. Carl is also her late ex-husband.
It seems everyone is stuck where they don’t want to be until, suddenly, they all discover that they’re in the right place. In Rosewood. At Christmas.

Els Gummer
Els has been happy to be a part of the Leduc Drama Society for 31 years! She’s so enjoyed being someone else in lots of musicals and stage plays. Notably On Golden Pond and South Pacific have been just a couple of favourites, but playing a pirate in Pirates of Penzance was a lovely intro into musical theatre. The cast of Christmas in Rosewood has been a special treat to work with and will be missed when this show is done! As a special note, make sure you have your hard candies ready and available to help you keep from coffin! Enjoy the show and have some laughs on us!
Michell Niwa
This marks Michelle’s third performance with the Leduc Drama Society, and she’s thrilled to be part of Christmas in Rosewood. When she’s not on stage, Michelle brings her love of performance to the classroom, where she inspires creativity and laughter in her students every day. With a background that blends teaching, theatre, and a touch of whimsy, Michelle’s secret clown identity—known in clowning circles as a Joey—reflects her playful spirit and passion for storytelling. She’s delighted to share this festive production with the community and her fellow cast members.
Alison Ottewell
Alison Ottewell is thrilled to make her stage debut in this production, performing as both Dr. Sheila Shuman and Christine. Though new to acting, Alison has always loved storytelling and creative expression, and she’s excited to bring these two very different characters to life. When she’s not on stage, Alison works as a marketing leader and enjoys spending time with family, volunteering in her community, and sharing laughs with friends. She proudly dedicates this performance to her Grandma, whose many wonderful appearances on stage inspired Alison to finally follow in her footsteps on the stage.
Dave Pearson
Dave Pearson is excited to be part of Christmas in Rosewood. This production follows his exciting acting debut earlier this year in the Leduc Drama Society's staging of Big Fish. Beyond the stage, Dave is also the dedicated Treasurer for the Leduc Drama Society, helping to keep the organization running smoothly. When he's not busy with theatre, Dave is an entrepreneur, owning and operating his own small business right here in Leduc: Beast 2 Beauty Grooming. He's thrilled to share the joy of the holiday season with the community!
Len Marshall
Len first joined LDS in 1996, singing in the chorus and speaking his first line of dialogue in the musical production of “Grand Hotel”. Over the years he has preformed in upwards of 45 productions. Those include “South Pacific”, “Hello Dolly” and “Never get Smart with an Angle”, just to name a few. He also keeps himself busy with other aspects of theatre, from building sets, working backstage as Stage Manager or stagehand and running lights and sound, as well as being a member of the board of directors.
His first foray into directing came when he worked with Eldon Roth on “I’ll Be Back Before Midnight”. His first solo director roll was “Sin Sex and the CIA”.
He has thoroughly enjoyed stepping back into the director’s roll in this production and having the opportunity to work with an absolutely amazing cast. He hopes you’re ready to laugh your head off and even enjoy a nice dessert snack.

Most recently she was "The Witch" in Leduc Drama Society's Big Fish and will be supporting cast in the upcoming LDS show "Knickers" in February.
