Director's Note

The story of Daddy Long Legs, once considered an essential book for post high school graduate women, has over time lost its prominence in culture and literature. Lucky you for blowing the dust off such a lovely story! What drew me to this show was its reflection of our shared desire for control. For Jervis, he believes that by keeping vulnerability at an arm's length he will somehow experience happiness without the risk of being hurt. We often make the same decision in our own lives when confronted with the people we love, afraid of the ways they could hurt us. However, it is only through breaking down those barriers that we can be folded into the embrace of love, thereby experiencing the happiness it can provide. Thank you to the cast and crew for bringing this story to life and going above and beyond for this production. A special thank you to my co-workers at MST for all the ways they strive to bring great theatre to the community every day.

-Melissa Redfield

Biographies

Arianna Costantini (Jerusha Abbott) is excited to be in her first production at MST! She is attending Towson University pursuing Theatre Arts and Film. She was previously in TU’s Mainstage production of Merrily We Roll Along (Frankie Jr. & Asst. Choreographer) and Director of The Addams Family Musical (Fallston High School). She is looking forward to attending a musical theatre program in NYC this summer! She would like to thank her family for all their support and everyone at MST for welcoming her with open arms!

Joey Lopes (Guitar) is a guitar player from Newark, Delaware, making his return to MST after performing in the pit for Songs for a New World. He has performed in many shows around the area over the years, most recently Passing Strange (City Theater Company). He also performs with Wilmington's The Rock Orchestra in their Beatlefest (Lead Guitar), and he spends much of his free time composing original songs and covering video game music on YouTube.

Matt Lucatamo (Stage Manager) Matt is an actor, singer, stage manager, and recent graduate of the University of Delaware. While his recent MST credits include stage managing (American Psycho; Chicago), he is no stranger to performing Spring Awakening, (Georg, University of Delaware) and The 25th Annual…Spelling Bee (Chip Tolentino, Milburn Stone Theatre) and directing (A Funny Thing…Forum; 9 to 5: The Musical; Mamma Mia!; (University of Delaware)). When Matt is not stage managing he is watching true crime documentaries or curating Spotify playlists. Thank you to Melissa, Arianna, Steven and Bevin for making this such a memorable experience.

Steven Soltow (Jervis Pendleton) is elated to be returning to the MST stage for the second time as an actor, previously seen as Gus Esmond in MST's 2018 production of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.  Other recent roles include Into the Woods (Wolf/Cinderella’s Prince, Everett Theatre) and The Music Man (Jacey Squires, The Brandywiners).  Not often on stage as an actor, Steven is better known as a pianist/keyboardist and music director; his most recent MST production being Anything Goes, which he music directed.  Steven is a 2021 graduate of Towson University with a degree in K-12 Music Education and plans to work in Harford or Cecil county in the fall.
