Director's Note

"We can build a beautiful city. Yes we can. Yes we can"

Welcome everyone to Godspell. These lyrics are from the song that was added to the movie version as the cast walked down deserted New York City streets. It is my vision for us as we leave the church tonight.

I have been in or directed several versions of Godspell. In fact, Lee Knox, who is in the show was the director of the first production I was in. I love it for many reasons. One being that the director can do various things to get the message across. The main reason is the message itself. We hear or read the parables and the Bible in churches. But this simple musical takes them and stresses them in a new light. My hope is that you leave wanting to continue your journey through the Bible.

There are so many people to thank for the success of this show. The cast and band are the best around. Staff at the church have been fantastic. Parishioners have been supportive. We have had the best publicity we could ask for. The two main people to thank are my wife, Lisa, who stands beside me on and off the stage, and Father Patrick, who gave me his blessing to do the show and suggested that we perform in the church.

Let's take it Day by Day to Bless The Lord and show everyone that you are the Light of the World as we Prepare the way for Jesus' return.
