Director's Note

Welcome to Jangleville, where the magic of toy-making comes to life!

When I first envisioned Tinker the Toy Maker, I wanted to tell a story that captures the heart of the holiday season—a story about creativity, resilience, and the power of community. At its core, this play is not just about toys but about the magic of human connection, the value of embracing one’s unique gifts, and the joy of giving to others.

In a world that often feels rushed and commercialized, Tinker the Toy Maker invites us to slow down and rediscover the wonder of creating something with love and care. Through Tinker’s journey, we see that even the smallest acts of kindness and ingenuity can inspire greatness. And through Doll’s transformation, we are reminded of the courage it takes to find your purpose and your voice.

The King of Toys adds another layer to the story—a reminder that leadership isn’t just about power but about recognizing the talents of those around you and celebrating what makes each person special. Together, Tinker, Doll, and the people of Jangleville remind us that the holidays are about more than presents; they’re about presence.

This production has been a labor of love for everyone involved, from the actors who bring these whimsical characters to life, to the designers who have built the enchanting world of Jangleville, to the crew who make the magic happen behind the scenes. I am endlessly grateful to this team for their dedication and passion.

As you watch tonight, I hope you’ll find yourself transported into this magical world. I hope you’ll laugh, cheer, and maybe even reflect on the magic you bring to the people in your own life. Most of all, I hope you leave with a sense of joy and wonder—the true gifts of the holiday season.

Thank you for joining us, and welcome to the world of Tinker the Toy Maker. May it spark a little extra magic in your heart this season.

Warm wishes,
Niyah Moore
