Director's Note

Welcome to our thrilling production of "Chicago: Teen Edition"! I'm incredibly proud of the dedication and talent our amazing cast and crew, have poured into bringing this iconic musical to life.

"Chicago" is a whirlwind of satire, dance, and unforgettable characters. We've explored the dark side of ambition and the insatiable media machine of the roaring twenties, but most importantly, we've had a blast along the way!

The iconic Fosse choreography is a highlight, and our talented choreographer Sterling and our dance captains Haley and Abdianis have worked tirelessly to master those sharp angles, fedoras, and unforgettable moves.

Chicago is a social commentary on fame, justice, and the power of manipulation. It challenges audiences to question their perspectives and see the world through a slightly warped, yet undeniably captivating, lens.

Get ready to be transported  to the glitzy, scandalous world of Chicago!

Annalise Muñoz

Roxie

Annalise Muñoz is a senior who has been a part of the Cypress Creek Theatre department for all 4 years. Since her start in theatre in the 6th grade she has been a part of several shows such as Beauty and The Beast, Next to Normal, The Wiz and more! She wants to thank her directors for this opportunity and her family, Jeannie, Annette, and Miriam, for their infinite support. Lastly, she thanks YOU for watching! As Roxie would say “Thank you, and God bless you.”

Isabella is a senior and this is her fourth year in AMT. In addition to her diverse extracurricular involvement, she finds joy and fulfillment in theatre. Leading Troupe 5115 as President, this is her eighth show at Cypress. Balancing the IB Program, theater, and tutoring has been so worth the hectic schedule. After high school, she is headed to the University of Florida to study Health Sciences. She wants to thank her family for being so supportive, and her awesome directors for putting this show together.

Walker is a senior and is so enthusiastic to be a part of his second Cypress Creek show. When he is not onstage he enjoys ballet & directing. Shows previously directed include Monstrous, Jumping, & The Trolley Problem. Previous onstage roles include Luke/Ares/Gabe (The Lightning Thief), Leo (Too Much About K-Pop), Billy Flynn (Chicago), Scuttle (The Little Mermaid), Colin Craven (The Secret Garden), & Friedrich Von Trapp (The Sound of Music). He is currently playing Cinderella's Prince (Into the Woods) with CFCArts, performing at the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts. He hopes you love the show even with all that jazz. After all... Charles Diestro is a Senior and this is their second show at Cypress Creek High School. Charles would like to study computer science and IT after graduation. Charles wishes to thank his family for the encouragement since day 1, his girlfriend for supporting his every step into this show, and Mr. Kahn and Mr. Allen for making him feel welcome into high school musical theatre.

Lusdany is a senior and this is their 6th show at Cypress Creek High School. Lusdany would like to study as a medical nursing student after graduation and she wishes to thank all of her family, su mami, su papi and her boyfriend. Y un gran abrazo a su abuela magua. Ty Cortes is a senior at Cypress Creek high school and this is one of his many shows! He doesn’t remember all of them.. His most notable characters were Orcus (The big red gay one) from “She Kills Monsters”, and Andy (The other gay one) from “Love/Sick”. His career path isn’t decided yet but he definitely has dreams of becoming an entertainer of some sort after college. Ty would like to thank all of his fans across the world for donating to support his cause to start total world domination! <3

Yavi Rodriguez-Villegas is a Senior and this is their 15th show at Cypress Creek High School. Yavi would like to peruse theatre in New York City after graduation. Yavi wishes to thank their best friends (you know who you are) for their love and support and especially Mr. Allen for giving them so many amazing opportunities and for being such an amazing teacher, mentor, and friend. Jaslene Zoé Rodriguez, Jaz, is a sophomore. This is Jaz's third show at Cypress. Her first production was a leading role, Haley in Too Much Ado About K-pop, and her second was Diaz in Case Number Four. Jaz would love to continue to venture into the arts for the rest of her life. Becoming an all time thespian theatrically, and acting on the silver screen after graduation. Jaslene would love to thank her family and her dear close friends for being her rock, her team, her mentors, and her guardians throughout the trials of her life. Most importantly, her parents: Daniel Rodriguez, Janitsa Zoé Soto, and Iris Guilloty , especially now when she has started to set forth into her career.

Haley Valkenburg is a sophomore and this is their 4th show here at Cypress Creek High School. She would love to be in the entertainment industry after graduation. Haley wishes the best to all her theater peers who she got to experience this with and her family and teachers who supports her through this journey.

Gyanna Soto is a dual enrollment senior here at Cypress Creek High School and this is her third and last mainstage musical. You may recognize her from last year’s musical the Wiz as a Yellow Brick Road dancer or other shows like She Kills Monsters where she plays Lilith Morningstar. Gyanna would like to study Dermatology and get a degree in Biological Sciences however she will continue acting. She will like to thank her mother Gemmi, her father Tauri, her annoying brother Armani, Rusty, Mambuela, Papabuelo, Mamlita, her family and friends who she loves so much, and lastly Troupe 5115 for always being there for her no matter what! This is her very last time representing Troupe 5115 she loves you guys so much!

Mia Bjeljac is a freshman and this is their 2nd show at Cypress Creek High School. Mia would like to study film making after graduation. Mia Bjeljac wishes to thank her family for always helping her succeed.

Marley Martinez is a Senior here at Cypress Creek High School. This would be her 9th mainstage show. Her credits include She kills monsters, Too Much Ado About Kpop, The Wiz and many more. Malachi Franco

This is Malachi’s fourth musical and 8th performance at Cypress Creek High School. He is incredibly happy to be a part of a great cast, and would like to thank his family and friends, for without whom he would not be able to do anything. Jacob is a Senior and this is his 12th show here at Cypress Creek. And his 39th show overall! He is pursuing acting in film as a career after graduation. He wants to thank the people of 5115 for a great run.

Landon is a junior who found a love for theater last year. He started as a tech but slowly worked his way on stage, and now finds himself in an extremely fun and exciting show. He would like to thank his parents and siblings for all the support, and Mr. Kahn for believing in him just over a year ago.

Daniel Castillo is a Senior and this is their second show at Cypress Creek High School. Daniel would like to study Film after graduation. Daniel wishes to thank his parents, sister, family and friends who always push him to be his best.

Isaiah is a silly quirky and enthusiastic senior this is their 10th show at Cypress Creek High School. Isaiah would like to study Music Theory, and Vocal Education after graduation. Victoria is a senior and this will be her 11th production here at Cypress Creek High School. You may have seen her as Evil Tina in She Kills monsters or Agent Smith in Dinner with the Macguffins. Melissa Torres Lozano is a Senior and this is their second show at Cypress Creek High School. Melissa has also been in 2 other musicals in her past school. Melissa would like to continue doing performances and dancing after graduation. She wishes to thank her mom and grandma for giving their support towards her dream of being in stage. Also, thanks to her sister who has been understanding for the schedule changes because of practice.

Sophia is a sophomore and this is her 8th show that she has acted in here at Cypress Creek. You may have seen her as Kaliope in She Kills Monsters or Jessica in No Business Like Show Business. She is also the troupe treasurer. She is so grateful to be part of this amazing show with such a talented cast that she loves to death. (Haha, get it?) Leilani Padilla is a freshman and this is her second show at Cypress Creek. Leilani would like to study veterinary medicine and herpetology after high school. She wishes to thank her loving and supportive parents for always pushing her to be the very best she can be on the stage, no matter how big or small her role may be.

Sarah Perez Villalobos

Sarah is a Senior who has been a part of Troupe 5115 since her sophomore year when she was in the cast of "The Children's Hour" all the way back in 2021. With shows in between such as "Oliver", "Dinner with the Macguffins", "Is there Life After Highschool?", "The Wiz", "She Kills Monsters", "No Business like Show Business", and now "CHICAGO". Thanks to her friends, family, Kahn and Allen, she has been able to grow with this Troupe as a second family. This is her last mainstage production and happy to be your stage manager. After High School she would love to study both film and graphic design, and with the experience she gained from designing multiple posters, she is confident that it will continue for bigger things. Hanan is a Senior Thespian and has been apart of Troupe 5115 for the past 3 years. You typically her on stage performing in shows like Oliver!, or The Wiz, but this year she has decided to become a sound tech! Apart from loving being a performer, she has found a new love for being a tech! She would love to thank her family, friends, and teachers for always pushing her to pursue her dreams and always encouraging her to work hard!!
