It’s the early ’70s in New York City, and five old friends gather in a shabby East Village apartment before their high school reunion. They came of age believing anything was possible. Now, adulthood is proving otherwise.

As the evening unfolds, old friendships, stalled dreams, romantic entanglements and uncertain futures collide—with plenty of laughter along the way. Armed with sharp wit, biting humor and the instinct to joke about the things that hurt the most, they confront a question that feels just as relevant today: What happens when the life you imagined isn’t the life you got?

Funny, poignant and wonderfully human, Ralph Pape’s Say Goodnight, Gracie is a nostalgic trip back to 1970s New York—and a timeless look at friendship, growing up and figuring out what comes next.
