Alicia Wong

Hi, my name is Alicia. I am 11 years old, and I’m currently in Grade 6. I joined GPS on Broadway because I love singing, acting, and everything about performing. I’m so happy with my role, and it’s been a really fun year so far. I can’t wait for you all to see the show!

I also have a YouTube channel called Time with Alicia W, and I hope you can subscribe to it. I enjoy listening to Olivia Rodrigo, Christian music, and sometimes sad songs. I also like playing badminton in my free time.

Leo Sanchez

Hi! I'm Leo, and I'm in grade 8 in Mr. Teeuwen/Ms. Neblett’s class. I like archery, acting  (obviously) cooking and chess. Not only that, but I joined Broadway because I enjoy being in a musical. My favourite part is mostly show night. I love the thrill of going on stage saying my lines and just acting out a whole show for people to see. I like acting a lot, if that's not obvious, so of course, I want to be an actor when I grow up. And to accomplish that, I tried out for an arts program in Unionville High School where I got accepted. I am excited for tonight’s show and am grateful to be the main character, the one every kid made jokes about, Shrek.

Hi. My name is Sophia I'm in grade 7 and I joined GPS on Broadway this year because it would make me have a better chance to get into the high school Unionville, also if I want to do stuff that involves singing and acting the in future this would help. Some of my favourite activities are singing and listening to music. When I grow up I would like to be a singer. My inspiration is my favourite singer Sombr. Hi my name is Audrey. I am in grade 5 and I love to act. I have many hobbies like playing piano and sketching, but my favourite hobbies are crocheting, singing, dancing and swimming. I joined Broadway because last year was really fun. My highlights of this year are making a lot of new friends and getting even more comfortable in large groups. My favourite part of Broadway is learning all the fun choreography. When I grow up I want to be an actress because I love to act and it seems fun to be on television. If you are wondering who is playing Lord Farquaad, that's me. My name is Sean. I am a grade 5 student playing Lord Farquaad. I do many things outside of GPS on Broadway like playing video games and playing sports. My favorite hobby is fishing. I go fishing with my uncles and my aunts and I sometimes like to cook. My favorite part out of the whole show is the song Duloc, and Believer. The reason I joined the cast is because I want to sing in front of people. When I grow up I want to be a scientist that studies animals or a zookeeper. I hope you and your family and friends will enjoy the show!!!

Dhruv Patel

My name is Dhruv Patel, and I’m a 13-year-old student in Grade 7 playing Donkey in Shrek The Musical Jr with a huge passion for musical theatre! I love it with all my heart because performing, whether it’s singing or acting, makes me feel alive and lets me express myself in a way nothing else can. Outside of theatre, I love to do many other things, such as biking around my neighbourhood, skateboarding, and swimming whenever I get the chance. I joined GPS on Broadway because of my deep love for musical theatre and my desire to be part of something exciting and creative. I’ve been enjoying it so much, which is exactly why I’m in it! It’s an amazing experience to be part of a cast, rehearse, and perform on stage. My favourite part of GPS on Broadway is getting to perform and connect with others who share the same passion. I mainly joined Broadway this year because I was sick when the ice cream party last year happened. When I grow up I want to be an artist because then I can draw people as stuff when they ragebait me. Hi, my name is Eitan Chu. I like eating ramen and ice cream because those are my favorite foods. My sister always teaches me dance. I joined Shrek because it’s fun. Some of my hobbies are reading books, skating, and dancing. My favorite part of Shrek is the wedding part because it’s funny! Get ready for an awesome show!

Kaena Ghosh

Hello My name is Kaena Ghosh and I am in Grade three. I like to do many things, like crochet, baking, making salad arts and do some DIY. Recently I made a vending machine using Amazon delivery boxes. My favorite hobbies are swimming and singing. I joined GPSB because I enjoy singing and dancing, which is what GPSB is all about. My favorite part of GPS on Broadway is that there is an ice cream after party and also every year they pick an amazing theme. When I grow up I want to be a Data Engineer and a Professor just like my parents. Also, I love Sushi and last year for halloween I was Ozzy Osbourne. You are surrounded by music, be it birds chirping or wind blowing.

Hi my name is Haniyah Baig. I am currently in grade 5. Some things I like to do are sketch, draw, play video games, and paint. My favourite things to do are bike, draw, paint, and make movies. The reason why I joined GPS on Broadway is because I thought that it would be a fun and exciting experience. I also joined because it’s a great way to make new friends, and I joined last year and it was really fun so I joined again. The part I like most about GPS on Broadway is it’s a fun and exciting experience. When I grow up I hope to become a doctor or an engineer. I hope I can accomplish this goal. Hello, my name is Isa Yusuf, and I am in Grade 5. I love to perform in GPS on Broadway! Last year I was the baker and a wolf. I am very excited to be Gingy this year. When I grow up, I want to be an actor.  I also like to sing and dance. Some of my favourite things to do are taekwondo, swimming, playing video games, and going out to eat. My name is Dana Ham and I am in grade 8.  I like to do many things such as: writing songs, practicing guitar and dancing.  I joined G.P.S on Broadway because I want fans and autographs. I love to do musical theater because It reminds me of my sister Emma, she's the reason I started becoming interested. My favourite part of being in GPS on Broadway is the music.  The song "I think I got you beat"  is so funny because it has farting and burping and I find that very funny. When I grow up, I want to be a singer. It also got me inspired by the Obsession on screen and that Is what I was doing at home. That is what after school when I go upstairs to the guest room so that means that there is a guitar right beside the bed. I always love to be with my family because I enjoy being with them. I really miss them whenever I am not around.

My name is Isabella, I’m in gr. 6. Some of my favourite things to do are knitting, crafting, playing with my brother, and hanging out with my BFF Scarlett 😀. My favourite foods are sushi, ramen, dumplings, and salmon. My favourite sports are hockey, baseball, and soccer. My favourite singers and songwriters are Taylor Swift, Katseye, and Doja Kat. When I grow up I want to become a pediatric nurse that works with children, or a psychiatric mental health nurse that helps children. I joined G.P.S on Broadway because I like to be around people and make new friends.  My favorite part of Broadway is how I can express my feelings and show everyone what talent that I have. Hi my name is Kristen and I’m so excited to be in this musical. I am in grade 6 and the roles that I’m going to play is young Fiona and Storyteller 2. Some of my favourite hobbies are making arts and craft, crocheting and skating. My favourite food is any kind of dessert. A fun fact is that I’m in a commercial!

P.S I got paid to swipe everything off a counter and to tackle someone. Get ready for a musical that’s going to be SHREKtacular!!!!!!!!!!

My name is Tiya Persaud and I am in the fifth grade. I like to eat ramen noodles and to draw. My hobbies are crafting, singing, dancing, customizing my stuff and building things out of cardboard. I joined GPS on Broadway because I thought it would be interesting. I really enjoyed GPS on Broadway because I like singing. My extra curricular classes are taekwondo, piano and Spirit of Math. I am not sure what I want to do when I get older maybe I’ll be an artist, engineer, hair and nail stylist, doctor, architect orbuilder.

My name is Tristan Quan. I am currently in Grade 4. In my spare time, I
enjoy playing Brawl Stars, drawing and reading Manga. Some of my
hobbies including volleyball, dancing and playing the ukulele.
I joined GPS on Broadway because I wanted to try something new and
build more confidence to perform in front of a crowd. My favourite part
of GPS on broadway is the dancing and singing.
When I grow up I want to be rich enough where I don’t have to stress
about money. Hopefully I’ll have enough money to move out of my

My name is Gabriella James and no I am not related to LeBron in any way. I am in Grade 5. I like to do many things, such as volleyball and hanging with friends and teasing Jason. Some of my favourite hobbies are acting and baking and I also love to journal. I joined GPS on Broadway because my mom told me to and she also said if I do I can do more acting outside of school. My favourite part of GPS on Broadway is the painting part and the making of it it is really wholesome. When I grow up I want to be an actor and baker. My name is Angela Li and I am in Grade 5. I like to do many things, such as science, playing with both of my cats, sleeping, and getting hugs. My favourite hobbies include skating, singing, dancing, and drawing. This year I didn’t have that full of a schedule so I decided to join G.P.S. on Broadway and have fun!!! My favourite part of GPS on Broadway used to be the ice cream party, but now it’s the part when I go on stage and act it out! When I grow up, I want to be an ER doctor or a dancer for LIFE!! But the point is Broadway isn’t JUST the ice cream, it’s the fun you experience and the friends you make.

Hi my name is Riley and I’m in grade 4. And I like to do lots of things such as reading and knitting. One of my favourite hobbies is playing baseball. I joined GPS on Broadway because I love to sing and dance. My favourite part about GPS on Broadway is meeting new people. When I grow up I want to be a Major League Baseball player. Nirun Ganeshalingam

My name is Nirun Ganeshalingam and I love playing sports. I am in grade 4 and am in Mrs.Semerdjian’s ¾ class. I like to do many things, such as playing sports, doing fun games with my friends and acting in the musical. Some of my favourite things are the color blue, extra activities and clubs like the basketball, in school and outside of school. I didn’t really have much experience with acting, but I have some experience with dancing and music due to the classes we have at school. I have gotten way better than I was before the musical started. My favourite part of GPS on Broadway is my role because I really like the costume, it's not too big but not too small and the songs are really good. I also joined because the teachers are really nice and my friends are in it. When I grow up I want to be a vet because I like helping people and I love animals. My name is Ryan Devine and I am in Grade 4. I like to do many things such as play video games and play with  my toys. Some of my favourite hobbies are soccer and racing go karts. I joined GPS on Broadway because I saw last year’s production and it made me jealous so I wanted to join this year. My favourite part of GPS on Broadway is my cool costume and I get to be a knight. When I grow up I want to be a DJ. I love GPS on Broadway!

Anika Rastogi

Hi, my name is Anika Rastogi. I enjoy many things, such as listening to music, writing, and reading. Although I have many hobbies, some of my favourites are crocheting, dancing, and playing sports like badminton and volleyball, which I am still improving at. This year, I joined GPS on Broadway, having participated in the last two years and enjoyed it very much. Learning the choreography, lyrics, and dialogues, and being part of this musical was an amazing journey overall. I loved my roles and want to continue performing them. GPS on Broadway is amazing, and my favourite thing about it is that experience is not required; you don't have to be a great singer or dancer to join this musical. Since I was four, I had decided what job I wanted when I grew up: to become a specialist, though I haven't chosen which type yet. If possible, I also want to become a dancer, because it is by far the best extracurricular activity I have participated in over the past two years. I am so glad to be part of Shrek the Musical and GPS on Broadway and hope to do another musical like this next year!

Hi, My name is Avery, and I am in grade 6. I like to do lots of fun things like playing volleyball, drawing, and hanging out with my friends. Hi I’m Ted and I'm in grade 4. I love playing Roblox and I like watching bugs, one of my hobbies includes drawing. I joined GPS on Broadway because I wanted to be with Sean. I also really liked the story of my life. When I grow up I want to be either a scientist, streamer, or a zookeeper and I actually enjoyed Broadway.

My name is Rebecca and I am in grade 5. I like to do many things such as drawing, reading, and playing card games with my family and my friends. Some of my favorite activities to do are skating, roller blading and swimming. I joined GPS on Broadway because I wanted to know what it was about with my friends. My favorite part in GPS on Broadway is doing my blind mice/rat dance with my friends. I feel nice about my role because I am with my friends. When I grow up I want to be a veterinarian because I would be able to save sick animals. Also I would be able to save animals in pain. : )

Hi my name is Aileen Zhang and my role is the blind mice. My fellow blind mice are Melody and Rebecca. I joined Broadway because of the costumes and the ice cream party at the end. The thing that I do outside of Broadway is playing sports with my friends. I love playing badminton and volleyball. My name is Stella Pizzo and I am in grade one. I like to do many things like painting and science experiments. On the weekend, I take a jazz/acro dance class and love to sing and read. I am also teaching myself how to skateboard. When I heard about GPS on Broadway, I wanted to join right away because I knew being in a play would be so cool. I’ve loved learning the songs and dances. Playing different parts is so fun and seeing everyone get better and better week after week has felt like getting to be in the audience watching a play! When I grow up, I want to be a scientist who studies animals and paints pictures of them. Mr. Schuck

Hi, my name is Mr. Schuck and when I am not teaching kindergarten I might be directing an adult choir or watching a good car race. I grew up studying classical music but over the years my musical tastes expanded to include broadway hits. I am really looking forward to this year's production of Shrek JR. This is not your typical princess story and for that reason, I'm sure that the audience will love it as much as I do.  Throughout our long journey from auditions to opening night, It's been great watching the cast grow in confidence and skill. Shout outs to the cast, the backstage crew, the lighting crew, the set design crew and our audio crew.  Many staff, students and parent volunteers with many talents made this show a reality. We couldn't have done this show without you. If we tried to it would just be really bad. Thanks goes to my family too for listening to me talk about a guy named Shrek for the last 10 months. To the audience, sit back,  get ready to laugh and thanks for watching. To the production team, you rock. To the cast, taking risks on stage is just an audition for life. Go big or go back to your swamp. 

Mrs. Schreiber

Hi, my name is Mrs. Schreiber, and I have loved musical theatre for as long as I can remember. From singing along to cast recordings at home to performing in summer camp productions, musical theatre has always been one of my favourite ways to connect, create, and have fun. Today, I’m grateful to continue sharing that passion by helping students explore the excitement of performing. 

Being part of Shrek Jr. has been a wonderful experience. This production has brought together so much humour, creativity, and heart. It has been amazing to watch our students grow more confident with every rehearsal. I am incredibly proud of the dedication and enthusiasm our cast and crew have shown while bringing this story and its colourful characters to the stage.

Outside of the musical, I teach Grade 7 and 8 and coach several sports teams here at Greensborough. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, spending time outdoors, and making memories with friends and family. 

One of the most rewarding parts of theatre is seeing students step outside of their comfort zones, support one another, and discover talents they may not have realized they had. I hope audiences enjoy this performance as much as we have enjoyed creating it. To our cast and crew: thank you for your hard work, positivity, and passion—you have truly made this fairytale come to life!

Ms. Roveda

Hello! My name is Ms. Roveda and I teach Grade 1 and Empower. I love music, dancing, and going to see musicals in Toronto! When I was in high school, I performed in fun shows like The Fantasticks, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and Bye Bye Birdie. I also played the French horn and percussion in band. I studied dance at York University, during which time I performed as a singer and dancer in a show called Southern Nights, and later a singing trio with the same name. Your guardians may have seen us perform at Johnny Bistro in Markham, or Georgian Downs! I am thrilled to be a part of facilitating GPS on Broadway, and love that I am able to help provide students with the same magical experience I had as a student.

Shrek Jr. is a funny yet beautiful show with an amazing message - we are all unique and maybe even a little bit weird (I sure am!) but as they say in "Freak Flag",  "What makes us special makes us strong"! So please enjoy the show and embrace your "freak"!

Hi, my name is Ms. Harper and in my free time I enjoy dancing, playing volleyball, and spending time at the beach. Growing up, I spent many years dancing, so I have loved being part of this year’s production of Shrek JR. by helping with choreography and costume changes. One of my favourite parts of the experience has been helping students feel comfortable and confident on stage through fun choreography and lots of encouragement.

Throughout rehearsals, it has been amazing to watch the cast grow in confidence and truly come together as a team. A big shout out to our cast, backstage crew, lighting crew, audio crew, set designers and staff for all of the hard work that made this show possible. As Shrek would say, “Ogres are like onions… they have layers,” and this production has shown just how many talents and layers our students have!

To the audience, get ready to laugh, cheer, and enjoy this not-so-fairytale adventure. To the cast and crew, enjoy every moment on stage and be proud of all that you have accomplished!
