Pump House CYT is 50 years old this year and we have chosen this joyous feel-good musical comedy as it celebrates the universal power of friendship, and music, which has also been the basis of the CYT since it was established in 1974.
Based on the hit film and nominated for five Tony Awards including Best Musical, Sister Act is set in Philadelphia in the late 1970’s. When the movie was being developed, the role was originally offered to Bette Midler who ultimately passed on it. It was then offered to Whoopi Goldberg with one caveat, the script would be filmed as written. Meaning Goldberg didn’t want anything having to do with her race in the film. Thus she is playing a woman who happens to be black rather than having the film point out the fact that she is black.
The cast and the whole fabulous volunteer team and band hope you can join the fun we have had putting on this show.

Meet the Company
Daisy Aldridge
Daisy is very excited to be playing the role of Deloris Van Cartier in the pump house youth theatres production of Sister Act. Although this is her first time with the company performing on stage, she has been involved with the lighting for Pippin last January and played Bass Guitar in the Edinburgh Fringe shows. Daisy is also part of Rickmansworth Players and has played roles such as Wednesday Addams in the Addams Family, Scaramouche in We will rock you and next is playing Paulette in Legally Blonde. She really hopes that you enjoy the show as much as she does!
