Meet the Company
Sam Morelos
Sam Morelos is a proud first-generation Filipino American multi-hypennate. They are so excited to be making a return to the stage after a run of film/tv credits! Morelos’ first on-screen role is as Nikki in "That ‘90s Show,” a spin-off of the iconic “That ‘70s Show.” Other credits include Hulu’s “Summer of 69,” Paramount’s adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s “Regretting You,” as well as various independent films, podcasts, and student productions. Morelos is a company member at the Echo Theatre Company, having understudied Clare in the World Premiere of the LADCC award-winning Poor Clare while in their junior year at the California School of the Arts. Currently, they are training at NYU’s Tisch School of Drama at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. They want to thank their family and friends, especially their Oyo, for all the endless love and support they pour into Sam daily.
Victoria Beristain
Victoria Beristain(she/her) is delighted to be making her Palabra Creative Group debut as Betty in The Good John Proctor. A Los Angeles native of Mexican heritage, Victoria comes from a theatrical family with deep roots in Mexican stage and screen, including her grandfather, renowned actor Luis Beristain. She recently completed her film and television acting studies at Central de Cine in Madrid, Spain, after studying Acting and Performance at the University of the Arts London (UAL) and Theater at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA). She has performed at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), served as assistant director for How to Defend Yourself, directed by Kamila Boga, and was a documentary actress for an Official Selection at the Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (2023). Fernanda Lopez
Fernanda Lopez is an LA-based actor originally from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Select theatre credits include Almost, Maine, All My Sons, and Peter & The Starcatcher. She recently made her feature film debut at the Maine International Film Festival as the lead in Still Ohio. Fernanda believes in the power of storytelling and play as a tool for collective healing and is completely over the moon to be a part of this bewitching and poignant production.
Angela Lopez
Angela was born and raised in Los Angeles, studying theatre at LACHSA and later moving into film work before finding her way back to theatre in 2022. She is proud to be a new member of Palabra Creative, excited to continue making impactful art not only through this project, but all the next. Her previous work includes: Diana/How to Defend Yourself (Kamila Boga), Livia/Fangs (Downtown Theatre Rep.) #2/The Wolves (Mouth Bone Productions). You can find her on Instagram @anglopez_
Kamila Boga
Kamila Boga is an LA & NYC-based director, playwright, and actor. Fueled by the belief that creatives are first responders, she develops and directs expressive, ensemble-driven work that turns tension into art. Select directing credits include Spring Awakening, Morningside Heist: The 131st Annual Varsity Show, How To Defend Yourself, and thou shalt be healed, Dance Nation, and Dry Land. Select Assistant Directing Credits include Dirty Laundry (Ojai Playwrights Conference), The Sandwich Ministry (Skylight Theatre), and Trouble in Mind (Barnard College Department of Theatre). Kamila recently graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in Creative Writing and a minor in Drama and Theatre Arts. She is thrilled to return home to Los Angeles, and honored to collaborate with Palabra Creative Group on their first theatrical production.
Sophia Oddi
Sophia Oddi is a Los Angeles-based choreographer and dancer. Through dance theater, her work aims to expand awe and empathy to remind us of our profound interconnectedness. Sophia has presented her work at Highways Performance Center, Central Washington University, Hoover Haus, the WOODWORKS Residency, the Segerstrom Center for the Arts for the Pacific Symphony’s Otello, and contributed as assistant-choreographer and dancer for Smurfs (2025). She currently dances for Sorzano Dance Works, and has performed with Zeitgeist Dance Theater, TU Dance, and Ishida Dance. Sophia graduated with the inaugural class of the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance with a B.F.A. in Dance and an emphasis in Choreography.
Luis Nuñez
Javier Padilla is a playwright, actor, and director whose passion for storytelling has guided their work in theatre and film since 2020. They believe in the power of collaboration, creativity, and the magic that happens when a story comes to life onstage. As a stage manager, they are excited to bring their perspective as both an artist and storyteller to this production. They are grateful to be part of this creative team and to help bring this story from the page to the stage.
Emiliano Sorrosa
EMILIANO SORROSA is a Mexican artist based in Southern California. As an actor he’s best known for portraying SPC Louis Sanchez in the debut season of series E-4 Mafia (2025), Rene in award-winning short-film All the Real Boys (2025), and Ivan in critically acclaimed feature debut Junho (2021). He’s directed and produced short films, commercials, music videos, and live productions--most notably producing award winning short Kalli Nepantla: The House of In-Between, music videos for hit songs ‘You’ll Be Fine’ (Co-director) and ‘Awful Thing’(Producer) by The McCharmlys, the docuseries “Peacemakers on Peacemakers” for the Urban Peace Institute (Creative Director), a holiday commercial for tech company MyFirst US (Director/Producer), and has worked in collaboration with Paris Hilton, Ashley Greene, LL Cool J, Neutrogena, Walmart, among other top artists and brands for live productions. He launched and maintains poetry publication Middle School Haikus, and is currently working on scripts for short and feature films, and essays. He is a co-founder and serves as Creative Director of Palabra Creative Group, through which he hopes to continue transforming the creative/entertainment reality for BIPOC artists and audiences.
Jasmine Afshar
Jasmine Afshar is an Iranian-American artist born and raised in California. She received her BA in Drama with an emphasis in performance from San Francisco State University. It was there that she made lasting bonds that would lead to co-founding Palabra Creative Group.
Metzli Solorzano
METZLI SOLORZANO is a Senior Digital Talent Associate at ADDITION Talent Management. She focuses on project coordination, talent relations, and creative strategy. In her career, she has worked with top brands such as Netflix, L'Oréal, and Microsoft, helping to bring partnerships to life through collaboration and execution. Metzli is a passionate supporter of the arts. She studied theatre at 24th Street Theatre, Casa 0101, The Young Actors Studio, and the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA). Her training in theatre, along with her experience managing talent and brands gives her a distinct view of both the artistic and practical sides of production.

Palabra Creative Group
Palabra Creative Group is a creative agency with in-house production, founded in 2024. The company's roots trace back to 2020, when a few friends came together to hone their craft and express themselves during the COVID-19 pandemic. From its inception, Palabra has championed historically marginalized artists, their perspectives, and the stories from the communities they aim to reach. The company has produced award winning shorts (Kalli Nepantla: The House of In-Between), shot commercials, served LA small business with photo/video, and is making their theatrical debut with The Good John Proctor.
Kiara Aguilar
Kiara Aguilar is a Los Angeles–based brand identity, motion, and editorial graphic designer and an undergraduate student at the California Institute of the Arts. Her practice explores the materiality and tactility of analog processes and how they can inform movement within her graphic design. She currently works under an LA studio, designing collaboratively with organizations throughout Los Angeles and the surrounding communities as well as her own freelance work.
