Antonia Scott

Antonia is a dance & choreographer that started her artistic journey here in Broward county fl at the age of 3. Quickly growing a passion for this art Antonia trained in many styles from; Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, Hip-hop & Tap. Antonia participated in performing arts magnet programs at Parkway middle school & Dillard High School. While in high school Antonia also competed competitively at many major competitions earning high adjurations. High school is also where Antonia gained her love for teaching and choreography and taught at local studios in the Broward county area until she graduated. Upon graduating high school Antonia moved to Los Angeles to further her dance education. While in LA, she performed in stage shows like Carnival and Club Jete as well as booking commercials for Disney + and a music video with artist Renee Rapp. She also got the opportunity to put her own work on stage at NACHMO LA. Antonia returned to Broward to cultivate a space and community in the place she first fell in love with dance. Antonia is currently acting as choreographer and rehearsal director at Brevo Theatre. Antonia’s passion for dance extends beyond words and her hope is that her work will inspire others and give audiences an escape from their everyday life.

Arturo Lyons

Arturo Lyons (aka NY Father Icon Arturo Miyake-Mugler) is a choreographer based in New York. Finding dance in school at a young age, he’s studied Hip Hop, Vogue, Reggae and Street Jazz, and combined them to form his own signature style as well as learning music as a DJ and creating dance tracks of his own.

He has choreographed for multiple New York showcases: The Carnival Choreographers Ball, Sybarite: Love Is Love, The Doll House Sirens After Dark, and Dance Harlem as well as produced an off-Broadway show Vogue 4 Your Life which premiered in Fall 2019 aimed to showcase vogue on a broader scale with an aim for a worldwide tour.

Recently, Arturo joined HBO Max’s new hit show Legendary as a choreographer in its pilot season and returned leading the House of Miyake Mugler to victory as the $100,000 Ultimate Superior House on Season 2. In June 2021, Arturo performed for WNBA’s NY Liberty Pride Night Half-time show and with Madonna for an exclusive Pride event in New York City.

Candace Nicholas-Lippman

Candace Nicholas-Lippman is an NAACP Theatre Award-winning playwright, actress, spoken word artist, and producer whose work bridges theater, television, and poetry with authenticity, vulnerability, and emotional power.

She is the creator and performer of the acclaimed solo show, A Rose Called Candace, an NAACP Theatre Award-winning production that has been staged in Los Angeles, Off-Broadway, and most recently in partnership with JuVee Productions, the company founded by Academy Award winner Viola Davis and Julius Tennon. Blending theater, spoken word, and movement, the deeply personal work explores faith, resilience, healing, and the freedom found in owning one's story.

As an actor, Candace is best known for her role as series regular Janelle on the Emmy Award-winning Starz series Blindspotting and recurring character Yari on Freeform's Good Trouble, where she debuted her original spoken word piece, Dear Black Girl. Additional television credits include Grey's Anatomy (ABC) and Grounded (Facebook Watch).

On stage, Candace received a Best Lead Actress in a Comedy nomination for her performance in the Pulitzer Prize-winning Fat Ham. She also earned a StageSceneLA Scenie Award for her featured performance in In the Next Room (or The Vibrator Play), along with an LA Weekly Award nomination for Supporting Female Performance. Her additional theater credits include Head of Passes at the Mark Taper Forum, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and ABC's prestigious Diversity Showcase, where she was selected from more than 7,000 applicants.

Beyond theater and television, Candace is a celebrated spoken word artist whose poetry has been featured on national stages and whose albums, PARTS OF ME and A Poet's Cry, were both considered for Grammy recognition. Whether writing a play, performing a poem, or teaching the next generation of artists, her work is rooted in one belief: stories have the power to heal, liberate, and transform lives.

Dr. Yvette Maureen

Dr. Yvette Maureen (Holmes) is a business professional and passionate entrepreneur who has distinguished herself as an accomplished scholar, professor, business advisor, prolific author, host, speaker, and dedicated community leader. Patdro Harris

(Director/Broadway Choreographer/Writer) is nationally and internationally recognized and respected by colleagues, critics, and fans. The Washington Post hails him as a “superb choreographer”. The New York Times applauds his artistry as “praiseworthy”. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution enthusiastically commends his work as “dynamic … brilliant…solid season after season”. And the Houston Chronicle says “…excellent and energizing direction and stunning choreography makes the show an absolute joy to experience”. He has directed at distinguished theaters such as The Alliance Theater, Sacramento Theatre Company, Round House Theater, Liberty Theater Cultural Center, San Diego Repertory Theater Company, Penumbra Theater, Tuskegee Repertory Theater, Ensemble Theater, Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theater Company, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Syracuse Stage, Theatrical Outfit, Connecticut Repertory Theater, The Tribeca Performing Arts Center, Howard University, Syracuse University, Florida A&M University & the University of Northern Colorado. He also served as choreographer, artistic consultant, and movement director with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, The Kennedy Center, Studio Theatre D.C, City Theatre of Pittsburgh, Minneapolis Mixed Blood Theatre, Jomandi Productions, The National Black Theatre Festival, Guthrie Theater, The National Black Arts Festival, Portland Center Stage, and Broadway's Royal Theatre. Patdro has traveled the world as choreographer and lead dancer for the incomparable Stevie Wonder. He has worked with such artists as The SOS Band, TC Carson, Daryl Coley, Yolanda Adams, and India Arie. His talents were also showcased as Choreographer and Movement Specialist in Toni Morrison's world premiere opera, Margaret Garner. He choreographed the Tony Award-winning Broadway hit A Raisin in the Sun starring Sean Combs and Phylicia Rashad. Mr. Harris attended Alabama State University. In his current home of Atlanta, Georgia he has served on many arts committees including the Georgia Council for the Arts, and the Advisory Dance Panel for the Bureau of Cultural Affairs. He holds to his credit the 1996 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Choreography and has been honored with a nomination for the same award for Best Supporting Actor. He also received a 2002 Drammy Award for Best Choreography and the 2007 Dance Ministry Magazine's Trailblazer Award for Dance Choreographer of the year. He has received a 2009, 2010, 2011, & 2016 Giorgee Award for Best Director and Best Show of the Year. In 2009 he received Atlanta’s top theatre award, The Suzi Bass Award for Outstanding Choreography, and in 2013 he won the Suzi for Outstanding Director of a Play.

Eddie Brown

Eddie R Brown III (Miami, FL) attended the New World School of the Arts, Miami FL - DePaul University (BFA 02), Chicago IL, and the Yale School of Drama (MFA 09). He’s appeared onstage at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater (Julius Caesar/Bombitty of Errors) Victory Gardens Theater (Kiwi Black), Seattle Repertory Theater (The Brothers Size), Harlem Stage (Bloodazzler), St. Louis Rep/Cincnatti Playhouse (FLY), Adrienne Arsht Center (Topdog Underdog), and The Pubic Theater (The Total Bent). At the Sundance Theater Lab he workshopped Passing Strange (03), After the War (03), Africa Kills Her Sun (11), and Wild with Happy (11). On television Eddie appeared on Rescue Me (FX), NYC 22 (CBS), and Ironside(NBC). Film credits include Home:___, and The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete. Eddie served as dialect coach for David Makes Man (OWN), ” and OT Fagabenle who appears as Barak Obama in the The First Lady (SHO).

Jorge Valero

I am a Cuban-Born Musical Theatre Performer with a BFA in Music Theatre Performance from the University of Florida's New World School of the Arts. Additionally I have been a Pianist for about 11 years, and a music director for three. I have comprehensive experience about how to lead a group, and the individual through a musical, helping break down and manage the many nuances of musical learning. This of course ranges from learning the proper music using correct technique and then applying that to the stage or performance medium. In my teaching I prioritize technique and experiential learning, emphasizing the need for rehearsal and deliberate practice. Additionally, I am very comfortable teaching a wide range of age groups, as I have taught many kinds of performers. I've had the pleasure, through the Michael-Anne Russel JCC and Broward Center for the performing arts, as well my personal career, to teach students from the ages of 6 to 21.
