Meet Singer/Songwriter Rawan Chaya

 

Rawan Chaya is a Lebanese-American singer/songwriter based in Los Angeles. She enjoys experimenting with various genres, with a special love for Soul/RnB and Pop, influenced by Eastern music, as heard in her voice and sound. Rawan has headlined at venues in LA, DC, Beirut, Germany, and counting.

She was a top ten contender with Universal Music Group’s Aloft competition and a finalist on The Voice Arabia. Her music inspirations include Sia, Christina Aguilera, and Arab legend, Fairuz.

Welcome to our show and mixer!

Today's program is part of our scholarship production series that gives diverse and underprivileged actors the chance to train and put on a play while making important industry connections in film and television and all at no cost to the performer.

As an actor of Middle Eastern descent, I understand the challenges artists can face while finding their footing in the industry and hope to pay it forward by providing a platform for other actors that can relate. As for the show itself, "Check Please" is full of heart, laughs and is also so relatable...I mean, who hasn't been on a ridiculous date before?

All proceeds from today's event, including tickets, drinks and studio merchandise purchased, go towards this scholarship production fund, so please do indulge and enjoy. 

A special thanks to my sister Rawan and to our studio volunteers and interns. And thank YOU, as now more than ever, community is of the utmost importance and I am so glad YOU made it to the theatre today.
